Ravenswood, a 2,480-megawatt power plant located in Long Island City, Queens will develop a program to retain, retrain, and upskill Ravenswood’s plant workers to prepare them for jobs in the offshore wind industry.

The training will equip members to transition smoothly to work on new renewable energy equipment and support an operations-and-maintenance hub capable of handling up to 3 gigawatts of offshore wind.

This joint venture with Attentive Energy One and the Utility Workers Union of America Local 1-2 is committed to supporting training opportunities for workers statewide. It will achieve this by collaborating with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and their industry partner, the National Electrical Contractors Association, to establish a GWO Training Center.
