SUNY Maritime College has established the Center of Excellence for Offshore Energy, focusing on developing a skilled workforce and advancing research in clean energy. The Center provides a variety of training programs, both in-class and online, encompassing wind operations, dynamic positioning, and offshore vessel operations. It also acts as a crucial research center for offshore renewable energy projects. Furthermore, SUNY Maritime offers a GWO Certificate, which includes five modules of the globally recognized GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) and Basic Technical Training (BTT): first aid, fire awareness, manual handling, sea survival, and working at heights.
